Registrations

UPDATE from LANSW on 16 SEPTEMBER: Sports NSW has advised that at this point in time no organised community sport can take place in any area of NSW in terms of training or competitions, even in small groups. We are waiting for further announcements from the NSW Government. We will update our website and Facebook page as soon as we receive any information regarding when and how the 2021-2022 season will commence.

Little Athletics NSW are operating a Register Your Interest page so that they will contact you when registrations open - CLICK HERE.

Balmain has programs and policies in place from last season that will enable us to adapt to any restrictions. We look forward to enjoying the Club's 50th year with you as soon as we are able to do so.

When registration opens age groups will be limited to 40 athletes and our Tots program will be deferred until after ChristmasThe special earlybird registration price of $150 will run for two weeks from the day registrations open.

In the meantime activate your $100 Active Kids Voucher at Service NSW so you are ready when registration opens and visit our publicly accessible Facebook page to keep up to date with the Club,

Introduction

Thank you to everyone for their support during the COVID impacted 2020/2021 season. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to King George Oval, Rozelle for the 50th season of athletics at Balmain!

Athletics is a summer sport with the season running from September to March. Registration usually opens in early August. Note that many of our younger age groups (including 4 year old Tot/Tiger Cubs program, U6 to U10) fill up quickly and close before the start of the season. To keep up to date with the Club, visit our publicly accessible Facebook page.

Registration Fees

Registration will open via a Balmain Little Athletics registration link that will be available on our website, publicly accessible Facebook page and via the LANSW website.

An earlybird registration fee of $150 will be available until for two weeks form the date registrations open, after which a fee of $175 will apply. This season the fee includes a commemorative competition singlet as well as other items to mark the club's 50th anniversary season.

If you are eligible for the $100 Active Kids Voucher this needs to be applied during the registration process as it cannot be redeemed retrospectively.  You can apply for an Active Kids Voucher at Service NSW.

For athletes in the U12 to U17 age groups the registration fee includes membership of the Balmain Athletics Club which allows athletes to compete at all Athletics NSW competitions.

Registration number distribution

Subject to COVID public health orders, we are planning to hold the one registration collection day at King George Oval, Manning Street, Rozelle ona Saturday (DATE TO BE CONFIRMED) from 1-3pm. After that registration packs will be available at the Info Desk in the Club Room between 7.45-8.15am on Saturday competition days.

A parent/carer from each family (other than Age Managers) must sign up to assist in the Canteen or on the BBQ once during the season.

Last year's start of season newsletter set out some details as to what to expect. An updated version will be posted closer to the start of the season.

Commencement

TBC - Subject to COVID public health orders

Maximum age group capacity and waiting lists

The Balmain Little Athletics Committee is concerned about the health and safety of all athletes at King George Oval and the level of enjoyment for each child and parent/caregiver in large groups of athletes. As a result, age groups are closed when the number of registered athletes reaches 55.

After an age group is closed, we will open a waiting list. These lists will be maintained until mid-December or closed when the number of athletes on the waiting list reaches 20. Athletes may be invited to register at a reduced registration fee in January (mid season). This is at the discretion of the Balmain Little Athletics Committee. Please be aware that all members of the Committee are volunteers, as are all our age managers.

If COVID restrictions apply similar to the 500 participant limit during the 2020/2021 season then:
* the maximum number of registrered athletes will be 40;
* the Tiny Tots (4 year old) program will commence in January 2022 only if there is an easing of COVID health orders;
* waiting lists may be maintained, but there is no certainty that mid-season registrations will open in January 2022.

To keep up to date with the Club, visit our publicly accessible Facebook page.

Thank you for your interest.
