Online Officials tests

All age managers and parents are encouraged to do the online multiple choice tests. Each test provides online education, helping you to pass if you attempt to take it.

The Australian Athletics Officials’ Education Scheme (AAOES) is a joint initiative of Athletics Australia and Jetstar Little Athletics Australia, providing a seamless and transparent education pathway for Australian Athletics Officials.

The AAOES emphasises the power of knowledge and competency. Its aim is to encourage a greater number of people to acquire the appropriate knowledge to officiate at all levels of athletics competitions.

The athletics specific levels of this scheme delivered within Australia are:

  • Club/Centre/School Official AAOES Level 1

  • State Level Official AAOES Level 2

  • National Level Official AAOES Level 3

AAEOS Level 0 (Introduction) and Level 1 (Theory) tests are available on the Atheltics Australia website ( or via a link on the LANSW website.

If your are interested to progress further, once you have completed 'Level 1', we encourage you to make contact with your local member association. They can assist in providing opportunities for you to utilise the knowledge you have learned through officiating.

Please speak with Tim Batho if you would like more information about any aspect of the above.
