Regional Championships

The Regional Championships for the 2017/18 season will be held in February with the date and venue to be confirmed.

Balmain is in Region 8 which is made up from two Zones: Inner City and South West Metropolitan.
Qualification for the Regional Championship is via performances at the Zone Championship.

In preparation for the Regional Championships the club has organised coaches in the following events on set days and times.

This will be added to as coaches become available so please check regularly for updates.

Thurs 19th January 4:45-6pm  Racewalk, Sprints, Middle Distance, Hurdles, Long / Triple Jump, Shot Put (SP U12+ only). More TBC

Sunday 22nd January 9-10:30am Racewalk, Sprint, Hurdle, Relay. More TBC

Tuesday 24th January 4:30-6pm  Racewalk, Sprint, Hurdle, Jnr Girls Relay confirmed(4pm). More TBC

U7 athletes that competed at Zone do not progress to the Regional competition. U8 athletes compete at the Regional Championships but do not progress beyond this carnival.
The first two placegetters (U9-U17) in each event at the Regional Championships will automatically progress to the State Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre, on the 17, 18 & 19 March 2017. Little Athletics NSW then selects the next best eight clear final performances from across all of the Regions, subject to qualifying standards for some events, to make up to a maximum of 24 athletes in each event. 
The parents of all competing athletes MUST commit to undertaking a rostered duty at the Regional Championships.
